We humans were a tad late on the design scene. Some of the most intricate, accomplished design work was already underway while we were still schlepping about in the primordial gunk.
But we set our minds to it, and have come some way since then. Successful design seamlessly marries form, colour and function; it’s become an integral part of our lives, whether we notice it or not. Just about every single thing we see or use, every day, has been designed by someone, or something. Buildings, kettles, furniture, sheds, pens, ice creams, underpants and golf courses.
So we haven’t done too badly. All things considered.
